Hi Everyone,
I actually already made a post a while ago as a new member, but was then driving a VW and were asking around and doing some homework on hopefully becoming a BMW owner.
Long story short, I love turbo's and I love 6 cylinder engines - the unmistakable ear orgasm coming from the sound of a 6 pot has been grinding away to a point where I decided I have to own one an quick. Especially since the new BMW's are mostly 4 cylinder turbo engines, I knew trying to find a decent second hand 3.0L BMW will become more of a challenge in the future.
So my search began for the obvious choice of a 135i or 335i since it meets both my requirements, Turbo and 6 cylinder... Unfortunately I was unable to find one that would suite my budget as they were mostly starting at around R200k upwards and that was just not close to my budget. So I started looking for a 130i or 330i and saw that they were within my reach. Then the obvious details started to bite at me of looking for the perfect one that would meet the rest of my requirements... M Sport, White, Sunroof, Xenons and black interior. This became a bit of search but Finally found one.
Flow down to Cape town a few days later to pick up my first BMW - a 2007 BMW E81 130i M Sport. Obviously with white with xenon, sunroof and black interior but with an added bonus... Only 2 doors
What a drive coming up back home, one of the best road trips I ever experienced. Smiles all the way, well up until I reach Bloemfontein and started to wonder where the power has gone to? Then I remembered, NA cars leave about 18% of there power at coast and you can't have it back living at altitude up in the North. But I still had the 6 pot sound although the loss of my 195kw did please me at all and I know now why I wanted a Turbo 6 pot. This will unfortunately have to wait.
Anyway, I love my car... but she came with a lot of issues the following month's due to poor maintenance from the previous owner that somehow eluded me when doing my search and homework. But I will post all of that in a different post under the correct section.
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone and express my joy of finally owning a wonderful BMW - 6 Cylinder Rear wheel drive Heaven!
Cheers.
