actually not badly priced considering what you getting.
A brand new e93 m3 DCT wil come in around 900k, this is much more car, and i expected it to be more expensive. So ya not badly priced
That's not a bad price considering that the next M3 will be about 1Bar.
I predict that in three years this will increase to R1 325 000. Order now if finances allow you. I'm waiting out for the next M3 even if I could afford the M5 it would not suit me, with my driving style one would think I'm crazy. M3 is a boy racer..
Now the sales manager is hounding me to order one. Problem is the depreciation of a M5. Buying one new now will only mean me losing out heavily within the first year. I'm thinking to rather wait for a nice demo one with under 10k on the clock and save a hugh chunk. Also remember that there's gonna be a waiting list and prices are likely to increase quickly at first, so once your car arrives you're gonna have to fork out the extra cash .
I couldn't agree more, strange thing though is that I have read somewhere that the F10 M5 has ITB's, which makes no sense, why would you want ITB's on a FI car? :dunno:
It has got 2x huge throttle bodys. One on each side of the cylinder head where the exhaust used to be on conventional engines. (outside of the V)
AFAIK valvetronic lets the TB be WOT all the time and alters the valve lift when you depress the accelerator pedal.
"The new M5 engine introduces VALVETRONIC variable valve control system for the first time on a BMW M engine – effectively providing 16 individual throttles."
"BMW has also fitted its Valvetronic variable valve control. M cars have traditionally used multiple throttle bodies to deliver maximum power, but Valvetronic does away with the conventional throttle butterfly and uses variable intake valve lift to do the job instead."
"...replaces the conventional throttle butterfly with a electrical mechanism that controls the amount of lift of the individual intake valves on each cylinder. "
Guessing they are only using the words "individual throttles" just to make people feel that is still a proper M engine and not just another turbo engine.....
