New M3 2014

Hi Guys sorry had to make you look. Coco posted pics of the 2014 M3 and ever since I have been seeming and dreaming , how to own one, anyhow does enybody know when they will be in S.A and what the prices will be? Will there be a long waiting list? Does enybody what to buy my wife's jewelery. The last part is a joke ...... Please post more pics of if you guys have. :rollsmile: :rollsmile:

Im sorry R1.3, even for an M3/4, is just crazy. Then again, when you see 2.0 litre turbos going for R500 000.00+ it puts it in perspective.

But in that price range I could get a R35 GTR, or a second hand Porsche GT3, or an R8, or a Maserati, or, or ,or...

Think I will rather look at a clean e92 M3, x35i.

E92 at R580k odd?

but if one looks at the 911 prices over the years ... has always been around the R1m mark ...

before we know it M3's are more than 911 carreras lol ... id take a new 911 over the new m4 if at those insane prices ...

My Dad bought a pajero shogun, was still a strait import then. It was 215k I was still at school and for the life of me I could not understand why he got a big bus and no THE M3:rollsmile:

The thing about the Porsche 911 (and I'm sure AdamR knows this based on his car list) is that you're looking at R100k-R200k in extras which MUST be added to the list price. So difficult to do a straight comparison.

Either way, for R100k or even R300k more, I'd take the 911S any day over the M3/M4

Porsche prices have gone up quite a bit, but not as badly as the BMW prices - I remember seeing the 996 gen 911S selling for R699,000 but that was many years back.

BMW's problem is that the E92 came out at around R600k and before the end of production, they were selling Competition Pack editions for R900k - that is a scary jump in the life cycle of the same model.
