Bought myself a 2002 318i as a run around to work and back. Before this I had a E36 325i, which I bought in May this year. It was something of a find, as it only had 54000km on the clock. Sadly, I just couldn't get comfortable with it. Driving longer than 10 mins resulted in me having epic back ache.
Anyway, I sold that to a mate, and now I am the happy (at last) owner of a E46.
Bought it in Cape Town, and drove it back to Vanderbijlpark. Last week Monday I sent it to a local w/shop for 2 things, radio not working properly and idling problem. In the end I had to fix 5 or 6 other things and only got it back today.
I was disappointed by all this, as the car only has 125k on the clock, with a full BMW service history. It actually looks bad on the dealers that they didn't pick up all the faults it had, or maybe the owner/s chose not to repair it.
Anyway, I look forward to problem free motoring from now on.
My other "car" is a supercharged Lumina, and the reason I bought the BMW, is to keep the mileage low on the Lumina, as I want to drive that for at least another 4 years.
