whats your brake setup?

Standard front disks and back drums. Nothing special. Will go for Ferrodo DS pads and Powerbrake disks when its time to replace.

i think you could bring down the running costs of your brakes alot if you go for larger disks... but try better pads and steel braided lines 1st

First need to kill the current brakes. Found out that my brake problems were due to missing brake adjusters at the back!

Yoooooooooo!

Some loooooooooong overdue updates on the little race car.

I've been working hard on my driving at the local trackdays once a month, speaking to some old ex professional racers and getting my mind in the game. No drinking a week before a trackday and an early night before a trackday.

The brakes are working 100% now and the problem with the dropping pedal was a worn front caliper sliding pin that would get stuck and stop the pads from moving parallel to the disk. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder as well because it was leaking like my ass after too many double brandy and cokes *drip*dribble squirt*. The mixture and timing was set free of charge by the van Eedens at 3 service centre, which was very cool of them and the car is much more responsive now.

Soooooooooooo, from the first day, where my times were 1:45's at killarney, there was a steady drop in times and on Saturday I did a 1:39.8!! My goal before I spend money on more mods was 1:40, so now I can think of what to do next. From the pics can be seen that an antirollbar upgrade could be a nice mod, but think it's time for an LS diff, as I'm getting lots of wheelspin out of turn 1, 2 and 4 even though the car only has probably 85 or 90kw.

So here are some pics!!

glad your brakes are sorted... what shocks you running?

The previous owner put brand new Gas ryders in just before I bought the car. The old shocks were still in the boot.

Oudshoorn on the move :roflol: That 'CG' number is making it go faster  GOOD JOB !!!

You should see the ammount of oudshoon sand and dust in the car. It's crazy! I cleaned the boot about a month ago and had to clean the vacuum cleaner 4 times, because it was full of sand and dust.

I also found a .38 special hollow point unfired bullet in the miasma of sand.

So, the previous owner was an alcoholic dog lover with a gun.
