New e30 Engine - Anyone know where to get a good one at a decent price

Hi Guys

My dad's e30 318i keeps bending one of its cams. After multiple cam replacements and or services to the valves / rockers etc. we're just about ready to give up and replace the entire engine.

Does anyone know where we can get hold of one at a decent price. Any e30 engine in fact would do - 318i, 320i, 325i etc.

There's also a place in brakpan that sells bmw engines (don't know the name) but we bought one for e36 and was impressed with it.

Any chance you could try find out the name for me? We've checked at that Japanauto place and they have 2, but the one has a weird tappet cover, so I'm a bit skeptical...

You sure you dont want mine? I am going ahead with the turbo conversion tonight otherwise?

I think it was your brother and dad who had a look at it and then were supposed to come see it run on sunday and then called to say they didnt want it? Its in good nic and has had a rebuild at BW Tech with reciepts. and a cambelt in the last 8 months.

Still the best option for his car I feel?

Sorry man... My dad's decision at the end of the day and he's decided to just get a straight replacement of his 318i rather than converting to the 320's motor...

Hope this helps ,we have bought a engine from jap-auto a few months back for my dads camry ,jurz be sure that the engines looks original ,and that the tappet cover seals are all original ,wish you best of luck ,finding a engine in good condition can be very hard

Put a 318iS e36 motor in , they were available overseas like that .
