New BMW?

Hello All

So on a weeks leave and starting to look at replacing my much loved 320i, if not this year early next year.
I have my eye on a new or 1 year old 330, but don’t see many on the road. I know still comparatively new as a range but just don’t see many, not like the F30 or E90 in their time and I had both. Can any owners comment on what it is like to drive and live with compared with a F30 if anyone has upgraded?
I am looking for a bit more punch on a spirited drive and on paper (and YouTube) the S3 and Golf R look a hoot, but once you have had a BMW.........
Petrol only as I don’t like the initial shove and later lack of fizz when out the torque band. Thank you in advance.

I assume your car is almost out of plan if not already?
You could quite easily do some work on the 320i to have it performing like a 328/330i.

The 30d though, is probably the most well-rounded f30 available to be honest, and I would suggest going and driving a few of them to then make your mind up.
If you are really looking for consistent power delivery and a great car, I would look at a 335i. They are FANTASTIC drives, plus 6 cylinder! Win!!

Will take some crazy driving on normal roads to run out of fizz with a 330d! Get the 330d, you'll be effortlessly beating 90% of the cars out there and saving fuel while doing so :)

Looks like you may be willing to spend over R500k.
I would suggest go for something with 6 cylinders.
330d F30 or even a 340i F30, both LCI.
Both cars will retain more of their value compared to a new 330i with a relatively highly stressed 4 cylinder motor.

Thanks for the reply. I have never tried 330D so worth a try. 335i a mate had and he was really happy with it. I was hoping to upgrade in technology with the new model but I guess you cannot have it both ways!

Thank you, the 340i LCI might be the way to go, not a massive fan of diesel but the 330D as a second choice. I agree I think the current 330I is a ton of money to pay and then depreciation will kill me for the first 3 years. I jumped for the F30 and no regrets but just not feeling the love for the new model to be honest.
