Hi Guys, great forum. I am totally new to the BMW thing so please excuse my noobness. Never owned a BM before and am a bit of a VW fan, but I will probably be banned for saying that.... 
My 1st venture into the MB world is with an E46 320D. Reading these forums, I have mixed feelings on my choice. I love diesels as I tend to do above average mileage (35,000 per year or more) and the lower fuel bills and plenty of torque on diesels simply appeal to me. Since I am not a boy racer anymore, the diesel driving stile also suits me better.
After my prize VW Jetta 5 TDi was written off by an idiot skipping a red light, I bought my 320D two months ago at 128,000 km on the clock in good condition visually but I have since discovered that it was in an accident and may require a little more work mechanically than I am comfortable with, to get it in the spotless condition I like my cars to be in.
I will ask my questions as they come up in (I hope) the right treads.
