Will wait to see it in the metal, in the pics the proportions look off. In profile the front looks too tapered off compared to the chunky rear.....

i agree it makes the part where the windscreen joins the bonnet look wrong... the rest is good

It's exactly what I was afraid of,they took styling from the 1,5 & 6 :flyfun: gotta admit thou that it's better looking than the rest of the bunch.
The interior is a big step up from the e90 :inlove: BMW has always been criticized for their bland interiors,so they've finally heeded the call
I'm sure in time it will grow on me,can't wait to see what the coupe looks like..

I actually see what you mean. Still, doesn't look as bad as I thought it would, and once seen in the flesh it will be easier to decide if I like or not... But so far I like!

This looks amazing, the front appears to have some similarity to one of my favourite Italian cars, the Maserati Gran Turismo, in profile the bonnet tapers off sharply, like the GT, to house the wide grilles. They used the best part of the 5series for the rear, those aggressive tail lights, luckily the the fudy dudy front of the 5 was not used on the 3, which favours a more aggressive and assertive front.

The side profile features some elements from the 6Series, if you look at the side crease line, at how it runs into the front fender, and then at the base of the fender the shape of the crease and how it runs along the side of the car at the base of the doors and side sills.

All in all a job well done by the BMW designers, its a balanced design, good mix of avant garde and contempory design elements.

Nice job BMW

Definitively looks like a step up from the E46 - something the E90 could not do ....

A worthy successor to the E36 & E46. Nice to see they have done away with the Nissan Almera tail-lights and the cheap looking E90 interior.

Winner.

Great fresh design, more curvy, more aggressive, more elegant, more sporty looking. Great standard equipment, great looking M-Sport package, performance brake option for the enthusiasts (hit an ace here), nice new wheels designs. Class leading efficiency tech

Wouldn't mind an F30 328i :=): but I think in a couple of months I'll have a great choice of nicely specced E90's to choose from at a lekker price

Back to the drawing board for the 3 pointed star and 4 rings it seems...

The e90 also had the performance brake option, in fact you could even get performance discs for the e46 330i as and option among other interesting things....
