is it Fwd? sure as hell hope not with 400Nm...

Hi-PerStrut combined with LSD = 0 torque steer.

Glad to see these are coming out with some decent tech, going twin scroll turbo. Does look good though

The Astra OPC also features a new high-performance bucket seat with state-of-the art technology. Both front seats increase the sporty and dynamic driving experience by introducing cutting-edge weight-saving material, a lower seating position and enhanced side support. The weight saving on the new seat shell compared to a conventional one is 45 percent. No other car manufacturer in the world has used an organic injection sheet with composite material in a production car. The new seat boasts up to 18 different settings.

Final images released.

that car looks great :fencelook:
infact, all the cars (top of the range/hot hatch models) in this segment look great.
this is close 2nd to megane in looks department IMO....

Hmmm I disagree. The best looking of all the current hot hatches has to be the Giulietta, with the Megane RS a close second.

Having owned a modded OPC H that put out 250kw and 410nm's. It was a complete handfull at full boost but a great car to fly around in. The new one should be a riot. If they have reduced the torque steer by even 10% it will be a major improvement. I used to be able to go around a left hand corner with the accelerator only...

I have always had a soft spot for GM products but after they screwed me on a warranty claim on my Lumina i swore never again....:bangdesk:

Maybe 10 torque steer, or 20 torque steer, but I don't think 0 torque steer. It's an inherent trait in the design that if the same wheels that are supposed to turn the car has to put down a big chunk of power it will take a bit of strain.

Nice concept and idea and kudos to Opel for doing it.

I like this and the Giulietta the most too.

and Fwd will never have the same traction in a corner as Rwd or 4wd for the same size tire... no amount of gimmicks can fix physics...

I have driven in a OPC, in a Focus ST, in a megane RS, and even a Gti, and R32, and they ALL suffer from torquesteer when the boost comes in!!
In the OPC it was soooo bad that the car would pull over into the next lane when the TC was off, and if left on, there is so much power loss...

Nee dankie, give me a bmw anytime, even if it means me losing out to a quick speed test every now and then.
