Judging by the design of the stock intake, it looks like it sacrifices air flow for that sound tube.

Looks that way too. I received this from Perrin when I was asking about the benefits of the new pipe:

So this arrived last night, went to collect it today. Brought tools with me to work so I can install it when the engine is cooler :joy:

Super impressed with the timing on the delivery, Store in Iowa opened on Monday the order was processed and picked up for delivery Tuesday and taken to New York and on a plane Wednesday. Paid the tax while it was being loaded on the plane and landed yesterday.

Thanks @Twinz

The illogical side of me couldn't wait any longer to put the new pipe in... :hammerhead:

trying to figure why there is an extra chamber at the bottom of the stock intake:dunnoanymore: Have reached out to a couple of experts to see what they say.

That's weird. Is it an empty chamber? Maybe it's also for additional sound. Or to collect water/moisture.

I think they call them resonators.

Just does things with sound, it works best in the bin.

the chamber collects moisture / water that might enter the intake system, most N/A cars have them integrated into the airbox, i would imagine this is on the pipe because of space constraints :dunnoanymore:

Hi all, apologies for being MIA for a bit, over Feb I moved to George and am busy settling in here.

I have further mods that have come in yesterday:
1: Rexpeed carbon hood struts (to remove the crappy bonnet stay & to create more work room in the engine bay)
2: Tomei Duracon shift Knob
3: GCS Reverse Lockout (Red)
4: LED Fog Light bulbs
5: LED Dome light, Vanity mirror lights, boot light and license plate lights

Stock Shifter & Reverse Lockout:

New Shifter & Reverse Lockout

Dome Light:

Vanity Before and After:

Fogs before and after:

Haven't done any shots of the lights in the dark as of yet but will do that tonight

And to top it all off I have removed the STI body kit and resprayed them form the base grey to black and will be installing it this weekend and do an oil service at the same time

Damn bro, this thing is looking mean. I absolutely love the shifter.
I was the transition to the short shifter?

Took a small time to adjust to the snappy and mechanical feel that came with the change but I am absolutely loving it now
