Morning All,

Sorry for not being active as of late. Been dealing with family issues this past month.

On a positive note, I have been on the lookout for a project car that will be easy to work on and a good daily driver and so a friend came through with this...

2014 Subaru BRZ with RPI Unequal Length Headers and Subaru aftermarket sport exhaust

and a little cold start from this morning:

[video=youtube]

Don't have any better pics at the moment will do a proper shoot when the car is detailed and I have a little extra time.

Congrats on the car,

Besides the badges, is there any difference between this and GT86?GT

thanks man, appreciate it.

other than the badges the seats are different the 86 has either leather or cloth seats where the BRZ has alcantara with leather bolsters and on the front grill the 86 is flipped upside down.

the only time there is a similarity between the 2 is the BRZ comes standard with all the options that an 86 high-spec would have.

Congrats, really like these cars.. Considered buying one once upon a time :fencelook: Would be keen to hear your feedback on driving impressions and general outlook after having the car for a bit.

My favourite spoiler: https://www.gumtree.co.za/a-car-acc...dition-boot-spoiler/1002678940700910005687709

Thanks KPM, I will posting a 1 month update and updates afterwards to give my opinion on it.

as for the spoiler I do like it, but only on the limited 86's, I have plans for a lower profile carbon one but that will be in due time: http://www.subispeed.com/2013-subar...-carbon-fiber-wing-2013-fr-s-brz#.W_PeYFQzbIU

Thanks you :ty: I know they have plenty potential, with the headers and exhaust I have improved the 111wkw to 127 wkw

Drove my buddies 86. These are awesome cars, with a nice low driving position. There is good feedback from the wheel and the rear end. This is a drivers car but it's not quick. Too many overlook it because of the power. My buddy "upgraded" to a Golf 7R, now that is truly a numb drive.

Congrats Bud!:bravo:

Quick update for everyone,

Last weekend I used my Saturday rather well, giving the BRZ a washdown, decon, clay bar, polish and wax. (only downside I had was my DA polished decided to go to the great buff beyond as soon as I turned it on, so I hand polished everything.)

Then this past Saturday I started the first mod, switched out the stock head unit for an Android 8.1 touchscreen.

More to come in the new year. (might be something coming this month but will have to see how things fall into place)

Hi All,

so its been a while since I've posted. Couple of big changes coming this month for me personally but on the plus side I have started the engine mod process.

First thing I have removed the plastic engine cover to repaint it to stock as the previous owner painted it silver so I'm reverting back to black.

The other mod is in preparation for a Perrin Intake pipe I have on order.
For those who don't know the FA20 boxer motor for the BRZ and 86 has a sound tube attached to the intake to pump intake and engine noise into the cabin, the Perrin intake pipe does not have a provision for the tube, so I have done the deletion now in prep for it.

Didnt take a pic of the before so I have a generic, that I marked what the tube looks like:

This is the after result(the cover is still off as it's drying):

and this will be the result when the pipe comes in:

Wasn't expecting to feel a big difference in the torque but it's quite noticeable and ridiculous on the low end, can't wait to feel the difference with a smoother intake airflow.

How much less intake noise can you hear in the cabin ?

Rough guess is 30% or so less, definitely quieter as I can now drive with the music volume lower and still have a decent conversation.

Judging by the design of the stock intake, it looks like it sacrifices air flow for that sound tube.
