Well Ok the thought initially was that you lift them if they can sit. BEFORE YOU GO ALL CRAZY ON ME CONSIDER THIS.

don't you think that one of the biggest wishes of a terminal ill child is just to get up and do things normal kids do even if it is just one time. therefor the suggestion. to ride on a bike or quad. no hooliganism involved and being lift.

if he or she is able to sit and hold on. Don't you think its a wish of any child for that matter just to play. or do something out of the ordinary.

Besides it was just an idea. no need for sarcasm

The thing is dippies there needs to be consent forms on something like that. Great Idea but not worth the risk.

I'm not sure about the area that we have, but how about a projector with some cartoons running - so we can recreate a "cinema" experience for some kids. We can also serve some popcorn.

Of course, we need to find someone with a projector, but I'm sure we can get a loaner for the day from somewhere.

ok guys,
taking kids for rides on quads or in cars is risky, there will have to fill in forms etc etc.
also if something is too happen,we will also be feeling kak,may be we can look at pony rides,or these guys that rent out battery opperated rides, but remember we have 1 month left,so we have to start finalizing stuff now

maybe look at setting a date for when we have to go buy pressies for those people donating cash.and the pressies have to be wrapped.

also understand where pinky is coming from, time at this stage isnt on our side, and she isnt feeling lekker(i should know as im sick as a dog here, cant even talk properly at this stage).so lets just give her and the rest all our support,we can joke and clown around on the day and after wards

pinky,is there an indoors area in case of rain?

good idea msm.

who works in IT?dont they use projectors:fencelook:

Great insight regarding the terminally ill kids Pink.

They are often stuck to beds, hooked up to machines or just unable to move freely. We need activities that will keep their minds off the pain and that will involve them engaging with the other kids - they are still kids at the end of the day and will want to be part of everything rather than be treated "differently" (Majored in Child Psych - so I know this stuff....

Playstation is a good idea as it allows them to partake in a fantasy life where they can be active E.g. Fifa, Need for Speed etc. - plus the other kids and fanatics can join in the fun making it a total expereince for them *2 hours will fly by*

Talking to these kids also help benefit them - puppet shows, chritmas stories etc.

Just my 2c - will consult with a Remedial Therapist and get some more ideas:thumbs:

 Becks. Thank you Herr.

Apparently they have a church hall thingy there thats why its at 11 and not 10. So there will be a place to go if it rains. Also electricity.

So far no one has donated moneys so I dont know if the account is working or not. I want to finalize all donations by 23 Nov.

Myself and Herrs wife needs to buy and wrap and its a little load of gifts. So please. Let me know if the account works so we can start finalizing.

Okay I have spoken to my colleague and heres what she recommends regarding activities for the kids that are terminal or not to mobile but which will include all of us:

• Craft activity mosaic (set you could buy at Crazy store)

• Origami (paper folding exercises)

• Write your own story (give them already made booklets, coques, art
things to paste, glue, stencils)

• Make a bookmark using ice cream stick

• Puppet show

• Shadow show (make room dark) and show shadow using sharp light

• Messages in a helium balloon (each child writes a message on paper and
place it inside balloon, blow up balloon, get someone to pop balloon and
kids are to catch papers and read message out aloud – great fun!)

• Give them instruments to make music

:joy:
