So a few updates...

Had waterpump pack up and the alternator reconed about a month back.

Fitted a new spoiler :smilebounce:

And downpipes car sounds demonic now.

I also was getting limp mode and it was vanos codes so pulled them out and gave them a good cleaning with carb cleaner and pressurised air car is now pulling stronger then ever. Oh yeah also put in the bms cowls. Much more audible inside the cabin now just the way I like it..

I managed to source a msport front bumper.

Thanks gents.. here's what she put down at Rennzport dyno day at that time mods was dci and muffler delete.. and it started to missfire in the 2nd run.. will be doing plugs and the rest of the old coils this week some time.

But I have a feeling the vanos solenoids was causing missfire after hard pulls. Coz now no missfire since I cleaned them. Thinking of just replacing them soon with new ones.

Was expecting abit better results but it's cool the butt dyno is happy lol

Hi guys

Got this car for a about 4 - 5 months now and decided to do a thread about it.

2008 e92 335 auto wish I could get a dct and sports pack.. anyway compared to my previous car the 325ci this car is whole new league I loved the m54 but damn the n54 is something else. Car has some decent power.

This car is in general good condition inside with a few scuffs and niggles on the bumpers one of which I done in the 1st few weeks lol.

Ever since I got my ci I kept yearning for more power I needed something with boost and my search began about a year back and every time i thought I found the right one it got sold.. So when I actually gave up I found one that ticked all the boxes for me. I knew what to expect when I bought the n54 it comes with all other quirks and the common n54 issues but I still wanted it. And it showed a few days after ownership haha one coil pack decided to pack up so changed that and a set of plugs then the next weekend the serpentine belt decided it had enough.. luckily I was just parking when it happened..

I knew that it had an oil leak but never realized it was so bad when was changing the belt got to see how bad my oil leaks was. Really bad leak from the ofhg and oil cooler gasket. Got that sorted. Car still stock for now. Did an oil change last week car running good so far.

work that I've done so far

- Oil cooler lines & OFHG
- Valve cover gasket
- Vanos solenoids
- New battery
- 2x new coil packs
- Service (oil & plugs)
- DCI's
- Muffler delete

seems now all my oil leaks has stopped and no more oil stains :tiptoe:
I even thought my injector was packing up meantime it was just a coil pack lol :roflol: I think i should just replace the rest of them.

Work planned to do :

- Gearbox service ZF
- Suspension refresh
- Carbon clean
- Silicone Vacuum lines
- Charge pipe with BOV
- Down pipes
- some mHD & jb4 when funds allow
- Msport rear bumper

Really starting to love this car but still miss my ci  wish i could've kept both.

I will update this thread as I go along.

advice and ideas welcome

Thanks for looking

Will post pics up soon.
Let's talk about the charge pipe also, (post the N54 downpipes I have for sale)

Got a aluminium charge pipe with a BOV and need to return car back to stock as my N54 will sadly be for sale soon.

Was impressed with your car - Strong numbers there!
I am pretty sure I could recognize your car on a dyno just by listening to it - ear porn :)

Shew tons of updates to do..

Car is running strong recently did the daring drive to durbz and performed flawlessly.

So raceday '18 has come and passed car ran 13.1 best I could do.

Before raceday I did some preventative work new tensioner and serpentine belt and rear discs and pads also done the valve cover gasket and ofhg and oil cooler gaskets again.

Mods for the 13.1 was basic bolt ons downpipe, cp with bov, dci and had it flashed with mhd e25 ots map also it was done on full street trim and street tyres budget didn't allow for semis lol.

Then n54 problems started lol car was starting up and wouldn't idle and would just die off. A log during the issue pointed me to something happening in bank 2 as the stft would be pegged at -34 in bank 2 and if the started and didn't die off I would log and afr in bank 2 was all over the place.

I replaced injectors in bank 2 and the o2 sensor in bank 2 and upgraded the lpfp to a fuel it stage 2 pump.

Then December came I really wanted to drive this car down to durbz but this time i decided I'm taking it down.

So a list of small problems that needed to be sorted before I drive to durbz. I was having some battery issues car would also give me an increased battery discharge error and sometimes wouldn't start I went through and bought a Bosch regulator as I noticed the people who reconned my alternator used a pirate regulator and I always had a code 2e98 alternator missing. I got an electrician to fit the regulator and it was still charging at a very low voltage he then tested the ground an that was the issue he added a new ground and now it charges properly and I no longer have that 2e98 code present.

I also got the lower and upper control arms replaced and new rear tyre. Whenever I attempted a long distance drive on this car it would go in limp mode and would throw a code for the vanos solenoid I would always just clean it out now and then I knew I needed to replace it so got a new one from the agents and it no longer get any vanos related codes:smilebounce:

Oh and btw it's no longer a daily lol had to get another car.

This Feb will be 2yrs of ownership and it's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs with this car.

All I can say is that the n54 is no joke when it comes to spending on maintenance.
