Naked Insurance

This makes me concerned. Having experience in the finance industry with AI, I can tell you that this below is still a pipe dream. I foresee alot of claim issues with this type of setup. Rather wait for more guinea pigs to sign on and join after 2 years, when most of the kinks with AI are ironed out.

"We use automated AI rather than call centres or brokers to run and manage your policy, which costs us less and translates into lower premiums for you."

Hey Guys

Yes I have 4 cars insured with Naked Insure and they have been awesome!

2 of my Cars I often only use during weekends and I save a lot of money by only paying the Comprehensive insurance when using it. As far as I know they are the only guys in SA that has this feature of Static Vs Comprehensive and you can switch it on or off using the Mobile App. It's pretty cool.

I have claimed for damages last week on my Wife's Polo. Painless and quick.

You post a selfie video explaining what happened and they called me back almost immediately organizing an assessment. I will post an update as soon as the vehicle has been to the shop and fixed.

to be honest I will at this stage rather speak to AI than some useless Call center agent from one of the other Insurance companies!

I found out that a couple of my friends have signed up with Naked and they seem quiet happy with the process and the price.

Also after some reading on Naked, they use a completely different model than normal insurance companies when it comes to paying claims , which in my opinion seems to be better for the consumer.

Just got a quote now. Still more expensive than I pay with my current broker.

I see they underwritten by Hollard so at least there's that.

With them I can save up to R1000.00, phoned outsurance they couldn't care less because Naked is a new comer and, and, and. Now I'm contemplating whether I need to change or will I be shooting myself in the foot later... :fencelook:

Claim the R800 from Outsurance for not being able to beat another quote.

Thing is I'm already with outsurance and they couldn't care less about Naked Insurance.

Outsurance's quote was basically the same premium as my car. Could've bought a spare car and kept it just in case :biglol:

We cant make that decision for you, but im taking the leap and moving to Naked, They are underwritten by Hollard, so i feel a little more comfortable.

What I would really like to know, is if anybody here had to claim and how was the process ?

This is exactly why I joined Naked. My previous insurer could not care less about me or my business.

I am saving about R800 pm across the board with my cars but the best is the Excess. I have taken the lowest excess possible (R1500) plus rental where my previous excess at Discovery/Outsurance was about R3500-R5000 per vehicle.

So really good deal.

So i first mentioned that the car was modified... to which they came back and said that they cant cover me.

So started over and said that the car wasnt insured.
5K excess and a monthly of R1135...

I currently have no excess on mine, with car rental and pay R670 and that includes the modifications.
Car in question is a 2013 BMW 135i

Yea where are you insured? Ever claimed? Are they full of it?

I've got a nice broker but his prices aren't fantastic. Claiming is the easiest process ever though. Never had any hassles.
