N54 Reliability?

And maybe....new turbos.
Guys, would it be technically possible to replace the standard twins with k03's or k04's. Just asking. Not trying to start a fight:)

Anything is possible but will require alot of custom work!

My mate is busy having a GTX3076R fitted to his brand new Golf 7R. Its taken nearly a month just to get the mounting bracket/spacer made up, granted the mechanic doing the work is a perfectionist of note, hes made about 10 different brackets before he was happy! There is no turbo manifold, the turbo bolts directly onto the block! The runners are inside the head. Crazy design!

Sorry the the thread jack!

103000+km

Purchased at 42000km with a suspended MP.
So it was Serviced and maintained on time by me.
Services aren't too expensive , mainly oil filters plugs etc. and one carbon clean by George :)
furthermore i purchased it with a flash tune but car now has now a JB4 with other mild mods.

Additional Parts replaced:
-Tappet cover(slight crack) - 98000km
-3 injectors due to a leaky injector. This caused a cold start misfire. Forum members helped me with advise to diagnose it And a bmw techie to replace and code. 98000km
-power cable under bmw recall ~60000km

Save for rear tyres..:biglol:
But really, my car is still on 54K and apart from services and oil changes no real problems yet... I did have the solenoids cleaned just for good measure tho...Oh and the seat belt grabber/arm thing can be an issue...the seat belt gets soft after time and tends to slip from the arm when you get in...

2009 model 335

The only major issue i had was the Hpfp...the first two versions i had on was hopeless but i have not had issues with the newer version for almost 2 years.

Things to budget for:
Waterpump/thermo
Injectors
Plugs
Coils

Enjoy your ride.

Whats up with us all not driving these beasts?

I can relate.

The 335 only gets driven on weekends these days.

But will be going do to Durbs with it next month.

I would love to drive my car daily...he'll I would kill, but my business needs won't warrant it.

Get the car, you not planning on modding so I'm sure all will go well. If the history is fine, then it should.go down the right way. Change oil at least 10 000km and do your services as well and you be sharp. There's no guarantees in life bru, besides that you gonna die one day, so I would say, if you afford to put 10k aside for a rainy day on the car, and youve ticked all the boxes for previous maintenance, go for it!

Btw...I met a guy on sat who owns a 320i e90 and his having endless headaches with the car, so the moral of the story, it can happen to any car any day.
