N54 335I DMF

Hi guys.
The time has come for my clutch and flywheel to be replaced. It has been slipping for the past few months now.
I have contacted Moranor some time ago and he can supply a clutch but the flywheel has been a pain to find. So far the only supplier i could find is BMW and they are charging R16k.
I considered Ebay that works out to R13k and i'd rather buy from BMW then. Is there anyone who has been able to find a local supplier?

I am also seriously considering a SMF considering the cost of DMF. How bad is the rattle and the drive?

I am also in the process of changing my clutch and flywheel, in the same boat as you. I am considering going SMF either with formula friction/star brake and clutch in edenvale or Optimum clutch in Joburg.

both work out to half the price of the DMF from BMW. My only worry is the rattle and the way the car drives after changing to a SMF.

I have tried GOldwagen they have said there aren't enough models in the country for them to import it. I'll give formula friction a call. Are there any similar companies in Cape Town?

So i have found a company that will make my broken DMF solid. Then I'll just use a normal 335i clutch. It should work out to R3800 for the flywheel + skimming and balancing.
Are there any Sprung clutches that will fit to reduce the vibrations?
