N20 Engine

Hi Guys

The pre 2014 N20 engines have a few known niggles; mostly timing chains and guides.

Is there an upgraded part number or numbers for a fix for this?
upgraded timing chain guides perhaps?

My friend owns a 2012 F30 320I, so just checking on his behalf.

I don't have the part number, but it is a new part.. the timing chain guides were replaced in the newer N20's. The most notable difference is that they are white plastic, as opposed to the original orange. They're a better quality and aren't prone to failure like the old ones. Plan on having mine swapped out in the next few months. Requires opening the engine though, which can be costly, especially through BMW
