Look Leonard, I have always had good business dealings with you in the past and have always regarded you as a stand-up businessman. I had no reason not to believe what you were advertising and took your word for it. I was quite shocked when you had little/no remorse for your error that has cost me a hell of alot of money.
The engine I had to buy from you is still the legal engine for the car because you didn't do the police clearance for the new motor. I asked you right from the beginning for the Japan Auto receipt, 2months later and still no receipt.
I didn't actually want the diff but you said you were throwing it out, take it back then as I have enough of the things lying about here anyway.
The seal kit was part of the car deal.
Your 'service kit' was one oil filter and a 5lt oil, thats it. R480 for the oil and R120 for the oil filter.
Sunroof was working when I got the car, Im not holding it against you, its a common failure point and these things happen.
It took almost a month to get me the car papers, to which you weren't even the title holder and I had an absolute horrible time trying to get the car in my name, when it was finally in my name I had to pay double the licence fees to do so, only then do I find out that the car is a 2004 model.
When I bought the car you said you had done the software from 2.5i to 3.0i but last week you told me you only reset the adaptations.
When I personally saw you last week you said your insurance also had it down as a 2004 and that you made a mistake advertising it as a 2005 but felt insulted that I had posted saying its a 2004 instead of a 2005 and because of that you won't come to the party for remuneration...
2005 X3 2.5i book value R132 900, trade value R106 000
2004 x3 2.5i book value R106 000, trade value R86 000
I paid you R103 000 for the car and the broken original motor, on post#4 of the FS thread you were asking R96 000 for just the car, so the broken motor cost me R7000.
My sums were based on a 2005 model which made it a good buy, I was swindled, whether it was your intention or not, plain and simple.
As I said I will consider it as school fees as it was my own fault for not doing a full history check on the vehicle before hand, I was led into a false sense of security buying from a fanatic with a good reputation, I won't make the same mistake ever again.
