lol no worries Im glad you went with Koni anyway  But obviously I would have liked to make the sale... you did the right thing by going for dampers at the same time...

Actually the fastest K04 Golf R is in Durban. 2 weeks back it did 11.4 on the 400m. The run was held in KZN at Mathuba. The car is built by Sameer from APR (Experience Performance in Durban) and runs the same setup as mine with just added full exhaust, WMI and possibly a good race tune. These runs are with a stock intercooler and stock K04 turbo which is pretty insane! :praise:

This car is classed the fastest K04 Golf R in the world! Check the video out against an RS3. This run he managed an 11.6 before doing the 11.4 2 weeks back...

yes thats the one I heard of! I also heard it had internals done though? but you say stock turbo and stock cooler!! thats insane! I wonder what the 0-100 time would be in those.

Can you also play around with the RPMs which you launch at like the bmws? or can that only be changed with a proper tune.

did a bit of googling, looks like APR changes launch RPMs. just a bit of inspiration:

The internals on Sameer's car are dead stock bud. K04 tweaked to the max requires no internals. Even the Rs with BT applications running in JHB are on stock internals. They just aren't running aggressive tunes.

Yes that is the DSG flash. The guys remove the torque limiter, remove the kick down feature and change shift points. Also change where you want launch control to start revving. Stock they dont go higher than 3200rpm. The guys raise it up to 5000rpm!!! Does insane things to the times!

Check out this video on what a DSG flash does to a 300BHP Golf R's 0-100!!! Its insane!!

I have a 5 year/100000 km maintenance plan and 4 year/60000km service plan.

All dealerships can be full of crap bud. Depends on how your relationship with the dealer is... I wouldnt try to claim a new motor if you modified it bad. But things like a battery, water pump etc shouldnt be an issue. I know of a friend that claimed the clutch packs on his DSG box! And that car is heavily modded!

So I guess it depends... I for one dont race my car every day. Its modded cause I love it!! Even my old pug didnt give me shit and it was heavily modded!!

I believe in whats the point being an enthusiast and you cant enjoy extra potentials from your car?

agree totally. i mod all my cars. puts a smile on my face. i do remove all the mods before servicing though. i like the R but all those mods are going to be a mission to remove hence my question. love the car. enjoy.

Been a while since my last updates...

But yesterday I was at Sportech to install all the goodies that have finally arrived...

I have to say that they really have the cleanest workshop I have ever seen!

They got to work by fitting the APR Runner Flap Delete kit. This involves taking off your intake manifold.

My intake valves at 5900kms... They are black but not packed up yet...

The technician getting to work with my intake manifold

The runner flaps removed and replaced with the RFD kit from APR
CIMG3015_zps2aa4d307.jpg

Fitted a REVO throttle intake pipe (No pics as it was fitted by the time I got into the workshop, and a Neuspeed K04 Discharge pipe.. (Thank you BeastGTI on the vwGTI forum for the sale!)
CIMG3017_zpsf841d333.jpg

Also fitted the H&R Anti Roll Bars which are way thicker and better than the flimsy stock ones. (Thank you to LifeGP on the vwGTI forum for the sale!)

CIMG3019_zps570f7c1c.jpg

My APR RSC catback exhaust...
CIMG3016_zps5c5f7c29.jpg

The guys practically bolted it onto my existing 3" Downpipe. But the downpipe I have has a reducer so the reducer from APR was also used. I will look at a 3" full straight downpipe from Sportech to go with the exhaust then next time...
CIMG3020_zpsfe33fb38.jpg

CIMG3021_zps36a15c1f.jpg

CIMG3023_zpsd9113c74.jpg

My APR tips - I went for the chrome ones cause I like them more.

CIMG3026_zps794b4693.jpg

They then loaded the RFD file so the car doesn't sound like it has a modified cam on cold starts. My fully loaded ECU was not ready and should be ready for my next trip so I can do the map switching. The guys then aligned the tips and fitted some vinyl for me... Big ups to Chad and the boys from Sportech. They really did work hard on my car!

My drive back... It was incredible. The car is actually quieter than just with the downpipe. It's only when I get on the throttle... When I get on the throttle you actually hear the wind rushing out the tailpipes followed by a howl that is pleasantly loud! At certain shifts you will hear an occasional bang!!! The RFD kit with the intake and discharge pipe seems to seems to have brought in a new noise as well. One can hear the turbo whine when gunning her hard. This car really sounds incredible!

Here are some videos...

Coming home last night. The last 60kms from Reitz to Bethlehem where I stay is smooth so I decided lets shoot a 100-200 vid...

And here are some exhaust note vids... Asked a fellow bud to drive my work Bantam and make a few vids of me driving the car...

Here is a warm startup this morning. Car was not cold though. Car had not been standing for long... Tone is very quite until you start revving her up.

Some of the car using launch control and sport mode...

And one of the car in manual mode, just shifting earlier and giving her the beans!

So that it could end up at the AWD dyno I always take it to...
20130222_140044_zpsef33347f.jpg

Here are the figures... Stock vs APR Stage 2+ with the 95 octane program and only V-Power 95 RON pump fuel!!
I am very impressed as there is still lots of room for improvement which will take place once my FMIC and WMI is installed. Then I can moved to the 98 octane program! :joy:
