My recently procured ride!

Hi all,

As some of you may be aware, I have recently been in the market for an E46 330D Auto.

I had found a car, but it needed a lil mechanical and body work, the former gladly paid for by the seller.

Details:

2003 E46 330D Auto Exclusive - 150kw version
Titanium Silver
139 000 km - FSH
Black Leather interior with electric front Seats
Glass Sunroof
Electric Rear Blind
Rear PDC
Front loader and 6 disc shuttle
removable tow bar
tinted windows
17" 330D mags with brand new tyres

As you can see, the driver side front fender is fairly badly dented, and needs replacement. I am currenly looking for a silver fender (second hand) to just bolt into place. I know that the colour might not be 100% due to fade or other factors, but it will still look much nicer than it currently does.

also looking for 2 x centre caps for the mags, and 1 x roundal for one of the cente caps currently on the car.

there are a few areas needing touch ups, but those will be sorted in the next few months.

for now I am happy with the car as it runs very well. and that power.......

Stunning cars those and congrats Xmax...

Yes there's some work to be done but hey you got a great car there.. :)
it will make you appreciate her alot more when there's some diy for you and we all know you will love doing it.
Congrats again

Thinking now... won't a decent dent place be able to get those out.. will save you on a respray and color mismatch..

Maybe take it to someone and see what they say :)

thanks guys.

@jakkals, i will take the car to a pdr person but the pics dont really tell how bad it looks in person.

i would rather have a good second hand panel and paint it than try and repair this with body filler or similar.

Hey X... hell no to body filler lol
i've never been to dent doctor or places like that, that can do paintless dent repair etc.

It's worth a shot i think..

Guys - you all know alot more about things like this than me.. LZ ? you in the process of restoring a bird.. what do you think ? dents repairable or replace panel ?

There is a certain dent doctor that will be under new management within about a months time...

I know the guy VERY well, and may be able to get you some decent pricing there, that fender is perfectly saveable with PDR, if not it can be fixed in the traditional manner. Is that a tear right at the bottom

@ZALE - Its not a tear. The fender is dented at the bottom as well and is pushed in, therefore the seperation from the side skirt.

If you could please let me know when and where I could go to this PDR place you speak of then Ill try and get there.

Hey all,

Thanks for the feedback.

The car is nice.

@Zed, yip I'm not too worried bout the lil things.

@ Mike, this car was a straight up swop for my 325i SMG.

@ Lushen

I'm coming down on the 10th of June. We can do some S Bending that weekend. I'm sure that the durban air
Will do the car good.
