Hello... FYI
I got my car on the 18th of October 2012. Not even 4 weeks old. Yesterday (13th November 2012) the car died on me when I pulled away at the robot. There was rattling and then nothing. I was standing in the middel of the road blocking traffic. Everytime I press Start the car rattles and stops.

After I phoned BMW Support I waited another 2 hours for them to have a look and tell me that the Low Bed must come through and take my car to BMW. 2 Hours of waiting for BMW to show up and tell me that there is nothing they can do.

I am really dissapointed as the car is not even a month old and only got 3 518km on the clock and look where it is now. I am Really Not Happy.

There can be nothing worse... I'm sure it was hard to believe... Cars are still made by humans afterall...:sorry:

I just recevied a call from BMW. They are busy testing the Fuel Sender Unit. They still have no answers about what is wrong with my car. I will get another call after 1:30 and hopefully they will have an answer by then.

Doesn't the new consumer act protect against that? That's really bad impression from a new BMW. What was the original KM on the clock when you bought it??

Same happened to me, car died in front of marikana mine (just abit more than a week ago) around 01:00 the morning, gave same symptoms as yours, well the next day the fuel gauge showed empty, so it turns out that the needle got stuck somehow for some odd reason, basically ran out of petrol without me knowing it, most expensive refuel ever :flyfun:

If it cannot be fixed then CPA will protect. Defective parts are covered under the Warranty or Motorplan.

As this is 1 component that is faulty and is covered by warranty/MP, the manufacturer is covered.

Its a k@k situation and would piss off any new car owner but unfortunatley there is not much that can be done.

Even worse is the fact that BMW do not guarantee "mobilty" while your car is being repaired. Some dealers offer a vehicle but its not guaranteed.

Seriously guys? :thumbdo:

Its a car, a mechanical vehicle with many many mechanical parts and things go wrong, be it at 400 000km or two weeks into ownership.

Complain complain will just screw up any relationship you had with your dealer, ask for a loan car (which they will give you) and let them fix it.

It happens, no need to request a new car etc - Obviously if it happens again then get upset but for now its not really the end of the world.
