Congrats...a real beaut.Whats the difference between this and the one in your signature...notice the bumpers and fogs are different.

The signature car is a "series 2" after 82 they switched from 5 series E12 to e28 chassis. The exterior remained almost identical on the outside with the exception of the rear bumper and front valance. Interior was very different though. Almost nothing is interchangeable between the cars but it requires an educated eye to spot the differences.

Thanks...always thought is was just a facelift...would love to see some pics showing the difference.

Congratulations!!

Having seen this car in the metal, and exchanging a few words with the previous owner, I can honestly say that this is one of the prime examples left here in SA.

AFAIK only the "series 1" was ever officially available in South Africa, and only for a year or so. That is why most of the 6ers you will find on sale will be 1892 models.
