One of the best drivers cars around and that 9000 rpm red line :=): . I stand to be corrected but I think when this car was launched it had the highest horsepower output per litre of any N/A car of the time.

Yes it was for 10 years, until the Ferrari 458 stole it's crown. It still holds the record for the most powerful 4 Cyl N/a car per litre. I doubt that will ever be beaten.

i have a friend with a grey one.
drives it once a month and for carwash only.
it is still under 100k kms
he does like 2000kms a year on that thing.

That is so true. It's considered slow by modern standards, but in terms of fun and smiles per km, not many cars can match it. Nothing beats an evening drive with the top down, and that screaming vtec sound:inlove:

@shabba07 I am keeping an eye out but it seems most of the great ones never make it to public forums/gumtree etc when trading hands. Missed out on buying my 'old' one back unfortunately (new baby had just arrived etc - too much going on and the seller couldn't wait for similar reasons). If I could have sold my Subaru first, I'd never have let her go but as you know, guys line up and almost start bidding to buy a good one!

The Subaru guys and BMW guys all thought I was nuts when I would say how much I loved my S LOL but until you've owned one you will never understand how much fun 177kw in that raw form can be... even at altitude. Driving Kyalami with the roof off and that banshee noise was a very special experience... says the guy with a 400kw car with a rather expensive exhaust...

A lot of owners with clean cars, have a queue of people waiting to buy them when they are ready to sell. You do get those gems which are advertised now and then, like the blue car in the link posted yesterday. I hear that it was sold for R285k. Goodluck with your search for another S2000, the good ones are selling for quite a premium these days. Here's another clean car with low mileage which has just come up for sale.
