My First trip in my 320d

Did my first medium distance drive from joburg to Sun City in my 320d

I loved every minutes of it

Its a lot better than my old 323i it just has so much overtaking ability and on those roads you really need it

Also it only used 6.2l/100km even with a lot of hard accelerating to overtake at times

One thing that surprised me though I was behind a 130kw 320d which was behind a very slow moving truck. I saw that there was no one on the oncomming lane so I thought we can both overtake together so he pulled first the tell tale blast of smote out the back and I pulled about a second or 2 after and I was stuned how much quicker my 320d was than his I had a lot more pull and its only 5kw difference.

Any way it was a great trip and this car handled it awesomely

Was it also an E90? The first E90 320d's had 115kW IIRC

These cars are fantastic cruisers, and with the 320d's strong legs it must be a pleasure!! Also satisfying with the sipping of fuel!!

I was very impressed with Fuel consumption I am sure I can get it down to about 5 l/100km or the late 4's on a normal highway run like to durban or something.

I never new a car with this much power could be so light on juice.

Shame man!
Maybe you must let her drive the car when you're around JHB so she can know and understand that you cannot tame the beast forever :)

Goodluck

LOL, yep, with mine you will be cruising at national speed limit and think, hmm, let's put the foot down a bit more... Then it's a case of oops, gonna get into some serious moeilikheid if caught! So I end up chickening out for this reason. It's loads of fun when it comes to overtaking though!!

the sun city run is really nice. especially when you get off the N4. open road, little traffic, little chance of pedestrians = lots of fun.
