Think its time to hear that induction. Glad u have your car back G. My car was in for repairs for a week and it was one of the most depressing weeks ever so can imagine how u felt with a piece of kit waiting at home as well.

Almost a whole month. Was driving me nuts driving my dads 1.4i Runx.
Will see you on the 8th @ the diner so you can hear the induction.

That's like a form of punishment! Look forward to seeing your car on the 8th! :)

You can PM me your address if you want me to stop by. I have time on friday. You are in Durbanville right?

No way. Kick some dust. Insurance (or the fact that you lay your money down) demands that you get what you had. You definitely did not have that...

i would not have taken it it this state i would have left it there and told them to fix it...

Light wasnt really good when I picked it up so I would have missed some of the details but I did tell then I will make a list of problems that I find and I will get back to them.

Have to say, looks like a very sloppy job! I would not accept this personally. And considering how long they had your car this is really not well repaired. I would definitely fight them on these various issues!

And The Nightmare continues. :argh::argh:

Got back yesterday from my holiday and the car is back from the bodyshop.

Paint seems sort of better (no more dimples).

But the problems continue (Pictures To Come):

Front passenger window was completely ##cked up by them. Goes down but pulls skew and pulls out of the seals when going up.

Front passenger door now was a pair of dents just for some extra happiness to my life.

Door seal was not put back properly.

Left-Rear window still doesnt seal properly when closing.

Masked off areas/edges are still rough (not sanded)

Noticed some slight orange peel

With the beading that didnt match it looks like they either replaced the front door beading or sanded it down but the right side beadings are still glossy.

Whatever oily crap they used to clean the left side interior door panels caused some browning on the front one and some oily spots on the rear one.

this is exactly why i choose to work on my own car... i dont know what else you can do, but take it back till they fix it... maybe speak to your insurer?

We spoke to them after I was not happy the first time. They say they will only need to step in if the bodyshop refuses to correct the issue.

i would still phone the insurer and tell them what happened... and say you dont want to car going back in because they are causing more damage... you need your car fixed not vandalized by these idiots...

i would also email them the pics because that will have more impact...

other than that the only thing you can do it take it back and hope for the best...

I feel for you bro.

I would call the insurance and state that these guys caused more damage the second time around and that youre afraid that if you send your car back a third time, that they might cause even greater damage.

use a very worried tone.

if the insurance doesnt want to help, go to hellopeter, and lodge a complaint. they should help by sending you to an alternative repairer. if not, take it up a notch and contact the ombudsman.

I really dont think that you should take your car back there a third time.

Yep, it is now time for the insurer to send their assessor out to assist you in getting all of these issues sorted out once and for all! From these pics and what I saw it looks like these guys are just doing shoddy work, plain and simple - so this is now between your insurer and this company to find a solution that best suits you!!

Just got off the phone with them. Billy to be specific.

They are denying doing any work on the front door so god knows how they managed to &*^k up my window.

He also says the dent was there but I know my car and it definitely was not.

They will take the car in again next monday and I will watch their work.

That Billy is so rude though. He basically said (about the rear window seal) that he will not put in a new seal because it is not a new car.

I hate it when they have that "oh well" attitude when they work on an older car.

Ah dude, that's a load of rubbish from them! NOT cool. I've had a similar situation where my previous car came back with a busted front window mechanism after I took it in to get TYRES :argh:

People just deny everything and say it's your fault, what a fail attitude when you are paying them for a service. If my car ever has to go in I will take a video of my car before, close up pics, whatever I can so that they can't deny these things.

I may have missed it in the thread but who is your insurance company?
