Yep, Rick is 100% right, a decent Torqx will cost you about R300 - R400, and do not buy those universals, they are crap.

Where can you find a decent Torqx set, and what makes should one look out for? I was looking for a set today, but found none.

Why Torqx?

Cool story Spy, next time you change the brake pads, go gentle on the brakes for a while so they can bed in properly. :pimp:

Your description is so good, that i can see this whole saga clearly in my mind:thumb:
I can relate to some of what you said and can also attach a lot of what has happened to some of the people i know.

@ ford. Thanks. It was a lesson in Patience and:cursin::cursin::cursin::slap::slap::censored::censored::banghead::banghead::thinking::thinking::thinking:

but needless to say I have subsecently done the following DIY on my car.

Taken out Throttle body 4 times to clean and sort out Funny IDOL... :spit::spit::spit: (DIY on forum with pics. I was so excited that I incorrectly labeld it Iddle valve, only realising later my car HAS NO Idle Valve. :)

Removed airbox several times.

Resprayed calipers

Replaced Expansion tank. (DIY wiff pics on Forum)

All this with the help of tis Forum and all the wonderfull people here.

The best thing I could have done besides buying the BMW was join the fanatics.

Sitting here now I am keen to take of the calipers again and clean everything with a bit of petrol so they are nice and shine? Or wait and paint my calipers. Nice Bright Yellow. :)

Take them for sanblasting. Petrol causes cancer in humans.

I found that a solution of cheap car shampoo and clean green in water also work wonders on most things, I used it to clean my wheel aches a while back:

Yup, just a slash of water and a couple of minutes later it looks like that. Or washing the car for that matter also makes it look like this, but its not that bad its just a very thin surface layer.

:thumb: well done man...great to see you managed.

A bit of news for all you BMW fans, BMW send a rep around to all tool manufacturing plants and steal the one you need, then sell them back to Midas and wait for you to come in so they can try balance their losses:)
