Kyalami done and dusted.
I expected it to be taxing due to it being over an entire weekend, But damn was I mistaken.
Ran into some unexpected issues with moving the oil cooler up top.... The water temps got too high and the car went into a protective mode which cuts all boost for a bit. Great for a reliable daily, Less Idea when you're chasing a lap time.
So after fiddling with the file ( Not my best Choice tbh) the car was actually even worse. On Saturday I managed my PB of 2:05.6 and my closest competitor was doing 2:06 at the time.
We tried a few things that didn't work and it kept going into limp mode, After a few changes we got it to work right but bow the car felt lazy and a bit weaker than the day before.
The main issue I was fighting now was heat management, I could do 1 lap before the oil and water temps got too high and the car would enter the protective mode again.
Our sessions worked out that your PB enters you into a shootout and that lap time determines where you finish for the day.
I knew I had to give it everything if I had any chance of taking my nemesis. I went too deep into sunset and lost time but managed to edge out the win with 90ms.
It really goes to show how close the competition is in this time attack format.
Below is onboard of my fastest lap.
