Are you happy with the 330d as a daily and performance?
Any known issues?

Hey bud,
Thanks
I am extremely happy with the car as my daily, the performance is amazing! It's pretty much faster than 90% of the cars on the road.
I get challenged pretty much every 2/3 days as I do a lot of mileage and to date I haven't lost a single "race". (Obviously when the roads are not busy, good visibility, good weather etc etc).
A 335i would obviously be faster but I wouldn't be able to trade the fuel consumption & torque of the 330d for a petrol. Open road at 140km/h my consumption sits on 5.5L/100km, 6.6L/100km at 180km/h and in town is generally 7.5L - 9L/100km.
Regarding known issues, the 330d's are generally very reliable. Just service on time and use proper heating and cooling of the engine / turbos. I am taking it to ZF within the next 2 months so they can service the gearbox (around R5k) though, purely preventative maintenance as the car is now on 100 000km.... Yes, I've done 6000km since I bought the car![]()
Cupra08 said:Sound great, what preventative maintenance are they doing on the auto box? I am also looking at a E90 330d or a F30 320d for a daily mainly because I am doing 140km a day and the diesel consumption will help.
I was also tempted for a 335i however I think the 330d is more reliable and motor will last very long? correct me if I am wrong but i heard that some guys got 300-400km in their 320d

ZF does a test on the current Gearbox oil to see if there has been any wear on the clutches. If there isnt much wear then they will change the oil and the sump as it has the filter as part of it.
If the wear is too significant they will not change the oil as it can speed up the wear process and leave you with the gearbox overhaul sooner rather than later.
Some gearboxes have been known to go well passed the 200k km mark, others have failed after 100k km. It all comes down to maintenance and probably driving habits. Overall can set you anything from 30- 45k depending what needs to be changed.Cupra08 said:sash said:Cupra08 said:Sound great, what preventative maintenance are they doing on the auto box? How long does these clutches gearbox last? and how much for an overall?
Thats impressive bru, makes one get so tempted to get a x30d. Its great to hear that you are enjoying the car. May you have many safe miles with it.Quentin Legend said:Cupra08 said:Awesome ride,
