Update - 218 7xx km - ISC Coilovers, Minor Service, Engine & Gearbox Mounts
On my last visit to
@Clint@MMS AUTO, we noticed 3 items on the car that required urgent attention:
- Front disks and pads
- Shocks
- Engine & gearbox mounts
Front disks and pads were sorted out immediately on that visit with the shocks and mounts being left for a next visit
I was initially set on going with Bilstein B4 shocks but then started thinking about what if I wanted to go lower in the future. I had 2 options to consider initially:
- Bilstein shocks with Goldwagen shock mounts + Eibach/H&R at a later stage
- Bilstein shocks with OEM shock mounts + Eibach/H&R at a later stage
After speaking to a few people and reading up, it was recommended to go the OEM mounts route. This became quite expensive and I would be wearing down the shocks quicker once fitting the lowering springs
This is when I started exploring the coilover route and made contact with Mo from Ultra Racing. After having a 22 minutes initial conversation with Mo, I knew everything that I needed to and opted for the ISC Advanced Kit. Height and 32 level damper adjustable with camber plate/front pillow ball bearing mounts in the street comfort spec
Kit was ordered at the beginning of June and arrived a month later
I have not driven the car much as yet, but in the test drives that we did while dialing the car in and the drive to Clinton thereafter, the car drove very well and feels almost like stock. There is still adjustments that can be made to both dampening and height but I am happy with the current setup. I need to go back after a 1000km for final adjustments
Straight after fitting the coilovers, the car went to Clinton for the following:
- Replace Engine Mounts - OEM
- Replace Gearbox Mounts - OEM
- Perform Minor Oil Service - Motul X-clean, Mann Filter
- Perform Undercarriage Inspection
Clinton finished with the car yesterday and performed super work as always. I'll be picking up the car from him tonight and will report back on the ride quality after putting more miles on it
Safe to say the car is now once again in good health!
