Sorry to do slighly off topic, but I bought an air filter just the other day from the dealer and it had the foam.

Spark plugs good value at the dealer? Or better to buy privately?

Great write-up and good references there Kabal. :ty:
Ramps FTW - it is much safer and easier to use as opposed to jacking up the car.

Manufacturing date isnt too old either. I got this by specifying one for my e36, but realoem says it should fit the e46 too.

Good idea Andy!
I'll list everything that's been done since I got the car
and see if I can find links to some of the posts!

Okay so the first thing that was done was the cats and CDV delete.
The cats were replace by resonators. Here's a link to the sound afterwards.

Then the CSL's were refurbished and sprayed to Sparkling silver.

After that I booked it in at PSR for a quick software tune.

And lastly it went in to Peter and Alexander for a Vanos seal replacement and a oil service.

The car seems as it should be... smooth and burning rubber!
I enjoy every moment I get behind the wheel!

I think it's time to do a good photoshoot and post some pics!
Maybe I must get hold of oupa Colin...he proofs to be very
good with a camera in hand

Wow that is beautiful, always loved a white e46 m3 with CSL wheels, car porn most definitely.

Kabal i like the DIY car maintenance you doing, sounds like its much more rewarding then sending it to any dealers, im in the market currently for an e46 m3 and this thread will help alot when i do find the perfect one:rollsmile:

A newbie questions here, I enjoyed servicing my previous cars but with my Z4M my only concern is the dashboard warning light indicating that the car requires a service.

How do you clear this warning message if you do a DIY?
