My E46 330i story so far......

I bought her from Gizmo a few months ago. She looked like this:

I got the Unichip installed at KSD in Cape Town:
Before: 165.7kw / 294nm
After: 178.8kw / 307nm
Flywheel figures. 5speed(2.93 diff, tnt catless branch, 57 dual freeflow)

I took her all the way from Cape Town back to GIZMO for the 6speed gearbox and a 3.15 diff. If memory serves me it is a 6speed from an E90.He also fixed a leaking power steering hose. Thanks GIZMO:coolShake:

I have to say driving back from Gauteng to Cape Town it was very frustrating with new clutch because GIZMO told me to take it easy. This was the consumption(6th gear):

My comments on the 6speed after a few days of driving with the new clutch:
3rd gear feel "deadish"(might be my imagination)
4th gear is my favourite. It is mean:rollsmile:
When Im back home Ill take it back for a retune.

I changed the wheels to this at Autoquip Tygervalley(Top service):

I went to the dealers but the bmw centre caps did not fit:fencelook:

Ill be selling the style 32's.

At the same time they fitted:
H&R springs and the Koni Str.T ( Thanks Sean)
Meyle FLCAB( Thanks Gizmo)
New front brake discs and pads(ATE, Im happy with it for now)
The tyres are Pirellis(forgot which ones) I received a free F1 Pirelli cap:thumbs:

The left fog light decided to give up.I could not find one anywhere, accept at the beloved agents. The going rate for a new one is R452:smashScreen:. I bought it but I had a headache for the whole day.

To do list:
Only at high speed the car is all over the place(Any ideas guys?)
Im in two minds about the schrick cams and pulleys:YesNo:

Im hoping to keep her for a long time:tiptoe::tiptoe:

Have you fitted the new rear trailing arm bushes yet? Also the steering rack needs refurbishment, sort those 2 things out and the car will sit planted even at the crazy speeds you do.
Glad you started a thread, will add to it.
Rick unless you get spacers the 32's have the wrong offset for 5 series.

Glad to see the car went to a good home, personally not a fan of the wheel choice, but to each his own.

Unfortunately you will need 30-40mm spacers to get them to right offset for an e34.

Thanks Gizmo_Oops I forgot about the trailing arm bushes. Whats your take on the schrick cams with pulleys?

Im thinking of changing the color of the wheels to hyper silver

Unless it's a race car I would leave the cams alone. Rather refurbish the vanos unit and regain some lost torques. Pulleys are a waste for a street car IMHO.

Sank with a 20mm spacer the 41mm offset wheel will become a 21mm offset which is what 5 series run.

Andre, good idea on the wheel colour change, bling doesn't suit this car...

Also not a fan of changing the cams. It will alter the smoothness of the drive.

Have u driven a car with changed cams before?

It can be terrible to drive and not worth the gains in my opinion

was that for the complete foglight unit? if so that is actually cheap.. aftermarket crap sets go for R900+

glad the car stay within the fanatics. Also not a fan of non-oem wheels but sometimes it works. I like the aline racers but secretly wish they had more concave to them.

The price of the fog is cheap if you ask me. On my m-sport agents wante R2400 each and even a secondhand one was selling for R200m on this forum.... i managed to import a TYC set for under R1000 although it took almost 5 months with the postal strike.

That's probably just the globe. The complete fog lamp is at least double that price.

I owned a golf with mild cams and I never had issues with it.

It depends on the spec of the cams, if you go for a tried and tested schrick 272/256 setup it feels like how the car should have come from the factory.

Sorry guys.. The price was for the globe only. With regards to refurbishing the vanos unit. I phoned round now in George and couldnt find anyone who does refurbishing of the unit.. I then called the dealer. Estimate: R3070 labour only.. New gears R2900.. Does it sound right?
