Congrats. Nice interior colour.
I've seen a few non sport models with clear lenses, esp the later models. So it's Def not exclusive to the sport models. But like someone pointed out if it was factory it would have the full set of clears, and most likely was added to fix the adjuster problem.

I too have seen some non sport models with the clear lights. Nearly bought one but the seller screwed nice me over. The non sports I've seen that have clear lights seem to be 03 models mainly

I suppose on the runout models they just specced them all with clears

Thanks for the input guys. I should not take all the glory, the iPhone's camera helped as well.

The first EISH! where do you guys buy your bulbs/globes for the angels? I cant get the 10W. All the shops stock 4W. Bosch in PTA have got 6W which they wholesale for R735 for a pack of 10. They don't retail.

BMW in Zambezi quoted me R351 for 1. I drove to Hatfield (Haese Leo) and spent 45mins with them going through the different range on their PC :smashScreen:. The best they could do was R310 each for 6W. The ol' guy there was very helpful and gave me all his attention. Thanks :clapper:, but I informed him that R620 was too high a price for a set off two :RedNo:.

I drove around town Beemews, Midas, Local Indy shop, Auto parts, allthe scrap yards, you name them. They know my name by now. Cant get a 10W globe, and this is without fittings.

Please help :cartel:.

The bulb is a H10W/1. Its a 12V 10W.

the 4W which is about R3 in any spares shop works but the light is too low/dim. you don't see the angels' lights during the day.

ahhhh

3 silver facelift E39's on the forum now

A question, are those headlights or rather indicators after market, as mine and RAA's have the orange indicators ?

and I also agree, the E39 is such a classy looking machine,... personally.... after these models, BMW's went down the road of the aggressive look, which is not my favourite any more, pre 2004/5 they still looked like "happy" cars, now they loook like "thugs" when they bear down on you in the rearview mirror

I think the E39 still is the most badass looking BMW to date.

Congrats again 323.

Absolutely stunning car!! looks mint! well done. Seems like you searched for a while? like me! I looked and looked for ages.....
The clear lights/clear indicator (from my 1000's of hours research on E39 prior to purchase)seems to be only on the last year '03 (I may be wrong). All "facelift" 01/02 have clear front with orange piece for indicator and the orange flicker in tail lights(many pics on the net are not standard cars as well..) just my opinion from searching, I may be wrong.
OH and anyone please teach me what is a "sport" model? I have seen some with "sportpack" type bumpers that I do love!!

That Sport model picture you posted is badass, but not edge-y and aggressive as the the more modern "angular" BMW's are

I like the smoother and rounder shapes, less angular lines, even if the E39 M-Sport is "badass" as you say

Eish, the lights I have are H8 used for the E90 Angel eyes. Yours if you want, but doesn't look like they will fit.

@Rodga, that's the correct bulb on the link you posted. If anybody googles H10W/1 they'll see its the same one. Thanks.

Welcome to the E39 Mafia. :)

You should change the side indicators to clears as well, so they match the front lights.
