My Current Bimmers

I do have some more photos of the engine and interior, but Photobucket is blocked on my corporate network,so will have to upload some tonight. The interior is all original, except for the gear knob, which is from an E36,so doesn't have the dogleg 1 on it.But the digital display, orange needles,Alpina branding,it's all there.Mine is an aircon unit, would have preferred the power steering, cos dangnammit that steering is heavy! The aircon, however, doesn't work.I never replaced the belt for it when I reassembled the engine, couldn't have been bothered!

Hellas,I had the privilege of driving the E92 M3,and that is a fantastic car,but honestly,I feel it is too technologically advanced, things to control this, and that.Don't get me wrong,it is a sublime piece of machinery, but the E46 is just that little bit more raw, like it wants to kill you if you aren't careful and treat it with respect. Two options,DSC off or on,Sport Mode, that's it,and with DSC off and Sport on,that car is just wicked. To get 252KW out of a 3.2L straight 6,it's lunacy! But it's a car I really love, and she has been very, very good to me.

Quote of the year IMO bud
I agree 110% with all you say!

E46 ///M3 is pure SEX.

333i = :drool:

They are becoming super rare, looks nice in the black - I have also seen them in white, a light blue and the usual Henna Red.

Wow! E30 and E46 the 2best 3series shapes ever made! And you have the 2top dogs 333i and e46 M3! You are a very fortunate man with excellent taste. I had a 325i shadowline auto dolphin grey silver grey before i got my e46 individual. I still love my e30's though you don't see many good con ones these days. Take care of them bud.

So I know this thread is close on 4 years old, but I am going to resurrect it anyway. Back in the day, I used to own 333i no. 156, a Diamond Black one as seen in these photos. Anyways, I eventually traded it for something I'd rather not talk about, and it has been a sore point in my life ever since.
Apparently the guy who took the car from me pretty much ruined it,and sold it one without the Alpina rims, half an engine, a missing gearbox and some other things. The current owner of the car mailed me here some three years ago,so today I decided to phone him. He says the car is in a sorry state, and that it's basically just sitting collecting dust. I am so disappointed. I am going to make an arrangement to try and see the car,and if he is willing, I am going to offer to buy it back from him. What do you guys think?

That is a noble idea. The problem I foresee is the chances of you finding all the missing original parts again is very very scares. It just breaks ones heart when you sell something like that to someone and it is raped likes that, and now only a shell.

Kobus, that's my concern,is that it's going to take a whole lot of hard work and moola to get the car back to semi decent. I think I am probably being led more by nostalgia than anything else, but it kills me to know the car is now literally close to irreparable. But I am willing to give it another go!
I am so sad:cry:

If it's not beyond repair, you should try to buy it back and fix it up, even if it takes you years to complete the build.
That is what a noble fanatic would do.

It is really sad that it got to the state it is now.

Hope the guy decides in your favor and that you get the parts man, sad to see a machine from such a great area stand in such a state.

I think we all as fanatics would love to see a mint 333i on the roads again, but by the sounds of it it might be a money pit already.

Have a look as you have nothing to lose and take it from there

I'm going to go look at it and see if I can bargain with him. Luckily now I have the financial means to sort it out slowly but surely. This car to me is like the story of the soldier going off to war and his love running next to the train, they don't see each other for years but still yearn for each other, and then one day they're reunited. I've decided I'm going to get my 333i back.

Thanks,I may just pop out there today. Will keep you guys updated on how it goes. The thought of the car being in a sad state kept me up most of the night.

I was wondering when you'd pitch up Jay! How you my boy?? Yeah, I did get rid of it (VERY VERY STUPIDLY!) and now it's a shadow of it's former self!

I did a stint with Audi the last three years, but BMW runs way too deep boet, and I am glad to be back! So if/when I get the Trip back, you going to help me get the thing restored? lol!

Actually, I did have a starting issue, but it wasn't the same as before, there was a crack in the block on the 5th cylinder, so there were a couple issues. But I would kill to get a second chance at rebuilding it to what I know it CAN be!

Will definitely be in touch bud! Nice hearing from you!
