My BMW consumption?

OK guys. I was wondering what other drivers are getting on L/100km to find out if our cars are running in the right region or not.
So I will start

E90 320d 2006
software remap
6.9l/100km
Average driving with a heavy foot now and then.

I wish I could answer that but I bought the car with the remap done but i must say the power is very impressive compared to a standard 320D.

All at JHB altitude (don't know if this makes a difference though), haven't taken it to the coast yet, but Im looking for a reason to drive to DBN

Is there a big difference in consumption terms between manual and automatic transmission? I'm wondering if its because I have an automatic 320d that my consumption is so much higher than I originally anticipated.

Can anyone share their thoughts?

Had a 320d manual and auto (E46), at least +50% between auto vs manual.

My 335i auto, best 10l/100km ave 12,5l100km and worst 15l/100km, my driving is split 50/50 and driving as fast as traffic allows, my car is on 37k km and going for the 3rd set of rear rubber

Also had the e46 330D manual nad E90 auto, in town its heavier, but on my out 330d, I managed from JHB to South coast, fully loaded with 2 kids and gear...... 1,053 km and refueled 56 liters:thumbs:

I personally experienced that the auto's are more frugal on the open road, and hell of a more comfy

Really?!

I thought that only applied to Mercs. Especially because BMW makes manual 5 series cars and at Merc, once you buy an above midrange C-Class, auto is standard

Explain....i noticed mine doing that as well.

My 2006 320d was averaging 5.8l/100km for January and most of Feb, but the last week in traffic has caused to to shoot up to 6.7l/100km.

This is mixed freeway and town driving. Car is stock

But now that will have to change as we got told at work we Have to drive cars that Avg 8.5 per 100.


So pissed off. When I got gopher we were told 10.5 is the cut off.

Open road as low as 8.2 l/100 km
Town driving as low as 11 l/100 km but not much higher than 12.5 l/100 km
Average combined driving around 10.5 l/100 km

My Wife's '03 E46 320i manual:
Open road as low as 7.9 l/100 km
Town driving as low as 9.5 l/100 km but not much higher than 12 l/100 km
Average combined driving around 10 l/100 km
