Handling has improved tremondously. Coming up the M7 from the N2 interchange between Belville Rd offramp and North Park I am able to carry 30km/h more in those bends with the car still feeling incredibly stable. Prior to this with 30km/h less speed in those same bends I felt like the car was on the ragged edge and its was scarily twitchy.
I'm sure you know the bends I'm referring to Sash.
It is really not easy to try and better the look of a BMW coupe without over doing it and detracting from the original product. There isn't much more that I want to do from an aesthetics point of view except to add a front splitter / spoiler and the BMW Performance boot spoiler. Once I have done that I will be satisfied with the exterior look of the car and hopefully resist any further changes. From the onset my aim was to do subtle changes that kept the car true to its original design with a few flashy bits that complimented the look of the car. I think that I have more or less achieved that.
My next goal will be to make sure that the car is mechanically at its peak since it has done 110k kms. Suspension and brakes must be on par with the power it makes.
Thankfully I no longer use it as a daily so I can ensure it is kept in good condition.
I had the car cleaned properly on Friday night and was hoping to get some good pics on Saturday after fitting the refreshed rims but the weather Gods had other ideas. I will have to clean again and take some proper pics but the recently lowered look works so damn well with the refreshed wheels.
