My 1st BMW...

Good afternoon, middag, molweni to all

As stated, new to BMW (kinda cause I did own a '06 MCS) ☺... proud owner of a '19 alpine white shadow edition M140i and coming from a mk7.5 GTi...it is abit scary at times(still being run in lol)...tho not as scary as my Edition 507 C63 was...but that's another story all together...

I just have a question for other M135/140 owners with regards to the TPMS menu on the infotainment/iDrive system... I have the pro nav option but don't seem to have the tyre pressure/temp option as seen in some... Is this just not an option for us or is it something that was missed for me and I need to get code?

Apologies if this was brought up already but did not find anything in the search option...

Welcome aboard, write interesting that you came from a mk7,5 GTI.

Can you write up the differences (pros and cons) of each (GTI vs. 140i).

Thank you Vince...

I enjoyed the GTi very much as I personally believe it's probably the perfect daily driver i.e. just a great all rounder

GTi pros:
-economical
-fairly spacious
-I enjoyed having both Android auto and Apple carplay option
-resale value here in SA cause we a GTi crazy country

Cons:
-not quick enough but the Mk is supposed to have over 220kW
-its too quiet of a car tho downpipe would work but warranty
-electric window switches that had a mind of its own and lots of rattles

Just what I can think of of the top of my head but should add that I will miss my heated seats but won't miss the side bolstering on them...

Welcome. Nice cars you have. I don't think a GTI and a M140 is a good comparison. The GTI should be compared to a 125i. :thumbs:

Thank you sir... yes M140 more R/S3/A35 rival... but I prefer the torque of the 6... no replacement for displacement :smilebounce:

On the infotainment your car would need to have TPMS as an optional extra. Without it, your car will only tell you when tyre pressures are too low but nothing else.
