I had a 2.6i Caravelle, great “little” car:rollsmile:
I’m sorry I sold it, may great memories.
I removed the middle seats, and throw in two bean bags, mates thought this was fun. Esp. when uncle Ash started throwing the bus like it was a go-cart.:evilish:
I drove it a sport car, easy to drive, park etc. Loved the drive

Moved friends, rescued motor bikes, etc.
Sold it because my petrol recovery was dropped from R1.80 to 40cents and getting 5.7km per litre
Pushed the petrol to over R3500 pm in 2001 :bangdesk:

A friend had a 2.5 model and dropped the suspension a bit, she would cruise at 170 plus with a double brandy and coke in the cup holder – plus her husband was banned from driving it, “he drove to slow”
Her was stolen, replaced with a 528i E39

No a few cars I would not let anyone else drive, even family!
Was thinking of getting another one, but 5.7km/l Ouch! Not much heavier than My V8 hmmmm
:fencelook:
Jandre - good luck, hope you have many many fun mile and good memories with your "bus"

My uncle had quite a few of these kombis. From fleet lines to volkskiebuses, From family trips to the beach to fetching people for church, and from having Toyota cressida motors to ford 3.0 v6 motors in them.

The memories...

Especially the sliding door coming of the rails a few times

Lovely vehicle Sir.
