You have done some brilliant work on the car.

To finish it off correctly get the old filter box fitted back on the car as it will give you better performance as well as fuel economy (not that economy is a word known to those engines)

That cone filter setup belongs on a golf.

epic progress :rollsmile: Glad there wont be any bonnet insulation all over the engine bay anymore :clapper:

So the heater control valve broke where the rubber water pipe connects causing coolant to leak. A google search revealed that a replacement part would cost around R3000 to R4000. Found a post on myE28.com where they explain how to install a manual valve so this is the plan, will need to get a new U shaped hose from BMW first so I have just capped the hoses off for now.

Met a guy the other day who drives a red 525e and he showed me that he installed the front lip from a VR6 golf to his car I decided to do the same over the weekend.

I also repaired some broken plastic bits and respraid them, cleaned up the numberplate by removing the bracket and I closed up the broken fog lights.

All and all a busy weekend, but I am happy with the results, the car looks allot cleaner now.
