Update time!
TL;DR - I bought an ST to replace the F30, then decided to keep the F30. Few car updates and mods (CERAMIC COATING!!!!) & then we took pictures

So after being active on the forum, but quiet on my own thread for a while - things are now settled.
I have always wanted a Fiesta ST, and managed to find an incredibly clean example of one, that I couldn't pass by.
It is the most fun car to drive. It is such a well-balanced package, and puts a smile on your face every time (its power - or lack there of - can actually be used on our roads). I threw on an intake and dv and fun has been had. The intake noises, short, close shifts, incredible handling, and nippy performance make it a phenomenal car. 10/10 fun.
Only thing I don't like is the seating position - it is super high. You feel like you are in a Transit van.
The plan was to sell the 30d and keep the FiST. This didn't materialise because the F30 is in such good condition and it's a fantastic car. So I kept both for a few months - fun 2 car garage - ST on the daily, 30d on the weekend. This ended up being ST everyday and F30 sleeping frequently.
During this time, I also made sure I was keeping the F30 by spending some money on maintenance parts
(1) 2 New tyres - sidewalls were deforming slightly, so new Eagle F1 AS2s fitted (not a fan, but OEM, so we keep for now)
(2) Upgraded VARI slotted front discs - that look the part for sure
(3) Upper fog light fangs - this is a mod I wanted to do for YEARS - just was not available locally until recently
(4) LED Foglight bulbs - want to get OEM LCi units, but this will do for now
(5) Annual service - oils, filters, the goods
.....
(6) THE MOST exciting - Nasiol Ceramic Coating
Over the years, I have become quite a paint snob. While I am by no means a professional, but I think I work a machine polisher and different products pretty well. Did a restoration on a Santorini Black Defender 90 a few months back that was going to go for a respray - and she came out incredibly well. Was a good 4-day job (also being a perfectionist), and horrendous paint to begin with.
It's a ton of work, but the outcome is so rewarding. It is a serious art, but having done a few cars now, I'm pretty confident in the process, and understand the different products, pads, etc - and what a difference the correct order of operation makes to the final outcome.
This said, I got to do a clay bar, decontamination, and 1 step cut on mine (as the paint was already in brilliant condition), and ceramic coated it. It looks fantastic - I'll keep tabs on its longevity. The prep work took a day, and the ceramic application a few hours. That's what you pay for with Ceramic coatings - the prep time. The products themselves are by no means cheap, but it's the last step in a long process.
With the ST departing shortly, I took some pics this past weekend of the cars together. Had a few friends join in, and got some cool pics.
Next up....custom exhaust. Stay tuned.
Enjoy the pics, and happy Christmas to those celebrating!
