Quick, help me decide!! Is it worthwhile going for Bilstein rear shocks ? Or should I just throw on Monroe's or Gabrielle's for half the price ?

Don't know enough about shocks to decide

Would love to order from the guys on the forum, but being out here in East London makes everything tricky, if someone does want to quote me though you're welcome to pm me or put it here, just let me know why I should choose them

OEM is more than Bilstein and Koni so not really an option...

I assume this is for the e46?

Meyle Rear shock mounts R 150 each

Koni STR.T A good Upgrade from stock
R 1720 a pair

Koni Sport Adjustable dampening and more refined damper curves
R 3160 a pair

can also get Koni FSD for you but you have to get all 4 they dont work well with normal shocks

Bilstein B6 are normally a little more than Koni Sport can get you current pricing monday if you interested :)

e46 FSD are R 9480 all 4
these will provide a super smooth ride while controlling the body very well... they do this by having an extra valve that senses frequency this separates bump absorption from body control in a way other dampers can never dream of...

FSD was used OEM on the mercedes SLR and is used in Formula 1

Koni will be your best bet. Bit more than Monroes but race pedigree shocks. OEM will cost you double excl fitment.

Just get the Koni str.t. I have them and they are an improvement from stock in my opinion and I had the sports suspension on my e46 if that means anything.

And I'm sure the Koni sports are faaaar better than OEM if you are wanting to spend a bit more.

the Koni strt have a good 'knee' on the damper curve this helps smooth out bumps and keep the body in check...

most people say they are smoother than the OEM shocks :) but then again they are also generally coming off blown shocks...

Koni sport adjustables are awesome & moranor's pricing and service is spot on. Way better than oem (in my opinion)

If you are in cape town. You are more than welcome to test drive my e46 to see what they are like. Using them with H&R springs.
