what is the minimum thickness for front and rear brake discs??

i know it's stamped on the disc, so anybody who removed discs recently can you please check.

or anybody with a Bentley manual (haynes manual doesn't stipulate these minimum values) can you please check.

cheers cheers

Bentley manual only gives the minimum value for M3 brake discs as far as I know, and refers you to look on the disc hubs or something for the other models.
This is also something I would like to know, in my case just for my 330i

did some searching on the net and found:

318-328:
front thickness new: 22mm
minimum : 20.4mm
rear thickness new: 19mm
minimum : 17.4mm

330:
front thickness new: 25mm
minimum : 23.4mm
rear thickness new: 22mm
minimum : 20mm

can anybody confirm that these are correct??

with those tolerances, than it makes sense why BMW recommend you change pads and discs together.

The minimum thicknesses are spot on... (for the 318 anyway) :thumb:
