Mini R53 Power Steering Fluid

So the mini has a slight tight feeling occasionally when turning the steering. At first I thought it was the control arm bushes, but doubt it as today the wheel went dead, no power steering. Checked ps fluid, its pretty low.

Noticed a slight sleak on the pipe from the resevoir so changing that this weekend.

Anyone know where I can get the ps fluid?
Its labelled to use CHF 11S. Where can I get this? Only BMW/MINI?

You can get from BMW or import.
The power steering pump might also be at fault. Check if you start the car if the pump runs. You should be able to hear it. The polo uses the same sort of setup so you might be able to get fluid from goldwagen as well.

I got the fluid from bmw. R220 for a 1 litre.

The pump runs, the fluid was low. Topped up and its all good now.

Will be doing some preventative maintenance soon, changing a lot of common issue parts, power steering pump is one of them.

That oil also available at Midas, used it in my 850.

Get RAM or equivelent clamps with the upturned edges, they can be tightened alot and dont cut into the pipe. If it is a supply pipe use clamps, but if it is one of the hard pressure hoses dont waste your time as the chance they will leak again is pretty good. I had a local Hydraulics company make me a new one at 1/3 of the price from agents for the 850.
