hi guys.

as you know i was going the turbo route with my r53.

my friend has bought an R53 cooper s and i took it for a test drive. Its got way more power then my one although mine is modified.

half way through my turbo build (got the turbo, manifold made up,intercooler, dump valve ) i have decided to abort the project since the supercharged one has a lot of capabilities since i drove my friends one.

so now im going to try and find the fault on my one.

i have changed plugs, fuel filter, bypass valve and the car is sluggish.
You can hear the supercharger whine and with my 15% pulley is giving a boost output of 0.5 bar.

i have also put it on the system to find faults and nothing has come up.

on start up there is a miss for about 5-10 seconds when motor is cool.
cylinder 1 plug came loose a few times.

all i need to know now is what else should i change to get its performance to what it should be. also possibilities of what can be wrong and what should i look @

i have checked compression too and it is around the same between all cylinders.

Also do you think it can be a faulty supercharger???

thank you

your help will be much appreciated

Boost leak maybe?

What spark plugs do you have in there?

Any funny sounds comming from the motor?

Staying supercharger is the best way.

Do you want a cam? hehe

Check the couplers on the IC.

I had a leak there. Also went through a whole lot of checks and replacements before I found it.

I bought the Alta Couplers and it fixed my "power" issue.
