Mini Cooper 1.6 - Maximum Mileage

Hey guys

Just a quick question for those in the know.

What is considered "high mileage" on a Cooper 1.6?

Im quite liking this one:

Will I have issues with a car with that mileage? And what issues can I expect?

shoo, thats quite high, about 50k kms over the norm for a 2003.

If I were you, I would look for something with a bit less kms on the clock.

That's fairly high considering it's a 2003, but then again it must have been long distance which is good. Dunno about the lifespan of Mini in particular, but if it's anything like BMW, then on long distance km's you should be trouble free for at least another 70-100k. If the engine won't let you down, there are always the wear on other items like window winders and nitty gritty things that gets to you on high mileage cars.

Both the 2002 models got A/M mags which is a no-no for me on buying newish secondhand cars. The 2003 model looks good in the BR green, but what is the mileage? Still I think if you got a R100k you will def get something decent and still have a buck left for a mod or some extra insurance! :thumbsup:

Agreed. The aftermarket mags make me wonder about how the car was treated... Dont ask why...

Well,

My mom has a 2004 with a Chilli Pack that may be for sale, but this thing will go way over market value, it has 34,000 on the clock, and very very well looked after, interior is stunning, body work is perfect except for a slight blemish on the front nose, which we will have fixed.

Im trying to convince her to sell it, she took a residual on the car, and now wants to finance that after 5 years, and the accountant in me just cannot let her finance over 7 years... its just wrong, although Im probably going to loose this argument.

Thats what I figured hey.

I can afford the car but not the one I want... So rather going to lower ze budget and get a smaller run around (Peugeot 206 GTI) etc until I can afford a really decent Mini.
