Mini Advice

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of trading-in our 2015 XS52. There are a few options on my short list, but struggling to decide if the additional money is worth it. The options are:

- 2020 JCW Clubman (Issues is the plan expires is a year)
- 2022 JCW Clubman (nice car, low miles, but is it worth the extra money?)
- 2022 Clubman S 60k km (mileage is bit high)

The car will be a daily driver to the office and school drop-offs. Not as a weekend family car. I expect to do around 10k km a year.

Also with the JCW being the hottest ever made, and mini moving to electrics will this car hold value. I kept the last mini for over 5 years.

Clubman is beaut. There are dropping the Clubman in the new lineup. So this is probably the last of them.

You would end up keeping for a while, because they are such great cars. the 2022 JCW will be the best bet in terms of future value. The Clubman JCW is such an underated car. 225kw, All4 8spd Auto. Its a little rocket. Lots of space as well.

Loving my ‘little’ JCW clubman. Really fun car and the last of the clubman’s. I had a loan car for 4 months with standard JCW sports suspension, it rode hard. Current one has adaptive and rides a lot better. Little loss of handling but comfort way improved.

I can't comment on a clubman but I have a JCW hatch and couldnt be happier. The car is a work horse used to get to work an back and sometimes spirited weekend drives. Its a ball of a time to drive, really a whole load of fun.
In my opinion in SA we do not have as good of an EV infrastructure as Europe, which will make the these cars "sort after" when Mini goes all electric. On the flip side the 2024 JCW is rumoured to still be an ICE, so could go either way in terms of future value

For the money, brilliant car. I mean the JCW options are between R500k and R600k for that year, brilliant car. The mini, even just the S, are great little cars.

I see most north of R600k

Please share links to 2022 clubman jcw around R500k

Was talking about the '20 model you quoted, as it seemed you not keen on the '22 due to price but even at R620-R650k for a '22, that's minimal money for that car.

Perfectly fine as a daily.

My F56 LCi2 had the JCW Pro Suspension at the lowest setting. It was still much more comfortable than my M4 Comp and M2 Comp as a daily.

That is like saying getting sodomised by a donkey is better than a horse.
