MHD QUESTION

BMW N54 –

DCI , EXHAUST SYSTEM(OEM DOWNPIPES) –CHARGE PIPE

What will be the recommend stage to install on the above application ?

I know the most safest (FOR ABOVE APPLICATION )is stage 1 , can a person go stage 1+ with oem cooler ?

Can a person go stage 2 or stage 2+ ( I have seen guys run this on oem cars and no issues) provided you are not tracking or racing car continuously as heat soak then kicks in .

On both stages what sort of power and torque increases can be seen on pump fuel 95 ?

Which version of the mhd .. 5 7 8 ?

From real experience is there a drastic difference in performance from a oem car with both stages ? Does the car still feel dead on the higher rev range limit ?

This question was asked before on this board and my advice/suggestons are still the same.

Buy the stage 2+ package and start with the lowest fuel map (91/95 RON)

BETA 8 is fine although some guys dont like experimenting...in that case choose v7

Make sure that you choose some of the cool MHD "optional" features before flashing.

Yes, you will feel the stock & tuned differences. If you dont like the tuned maps then flash back to stock and you can still enjoy MHD as a monitoring, code reading and logging device.

thanks Twinz

Why lowest map " Buy the stage 2+ package and start with the lowest fuel map (91/95 RON) " will this be because it has a much safer timing map ?

Cos the fuel i do use is 95 octane

Correct.

The OTS tuned maps is not only about having the required mods like DP and intercooler. It is also about good quality fuel.

If you look at the inside of the N54 fuel cap you will see BMW recommends the minimum fuel quality (RON) to be used is 91 RON then 95, 98 RON.
Then BMW recommends 100 RON or (higher).

Now that (higher) recommendation is on a stock N54

So for the N54 to run at its optimal best the "higher" than 100 RON is recommended.

Now how many N54 owners run their cars at higher than 100 Ron in stock trim...probably nobody.

My point is. When the car is tuned it is even more important to run a good quality fuel in our cars.
