forgot to mention that i run BEF with jb4.

i run the pump flash as my daily flash. no issues to report.

no meth installed, but when i run the race and e85 flash i run a minimum of e50 and NF. personally i like the race flash over the e85 flash.

Have you driving daily on the E85 flash on regular pump fuel. Without going WOT at all.

Why would you use E85 flash on pump fuel?

It takes 2minutes to swop between flashes, I would rather have more octane and use pump flash, then use an aggressive flash and not have the octane/mods to back it up....

As one of the Rennzport members use to say, if you want a stable full of horses, you got to feed them well!

I dont have MHD yet. Im trying to get a sense of the flashes on offer with the mods i have.

For example if i go on a race day and run an E85 flash with the right fuel, and then run out of eth on the way home and don't have time to flash the car for whatever reason, would i be safe driving the car on pump gas at legal speeds, not sure if the makes sense as to what im trying to get to.
just make sure you have extra eth in your boot

but on a serious note, as Rosh mentioned, it will take 2 minutes to flash back to the pump flash.
:rollsmile: I know. Just need to know if it would be safe to drive

If u not boosting the car hard or driving it like its stolen, then u should be fine

That exhaust burble is apparently not great as it messes with the fuel mixture.

KrS24 explained it to me briefly but I forget the reason wy it was bad, I think its something to do with the fuel mixture. makes it too rich or too lean.

With regards to the turbo wastegate fix omg it turned my car into a slugish pos with more turbo lag than a dead snail with a walking stick! Get the rattle fixed properly is my best advise! That software fix really ruins the drive of the car.

Guys quick question.

Do i have to buy the JB backend maps from the MHD license store or can i download the JB MD backend maps from the N54tech site to my phone and then flash the file via MHD using the flash custom map option.

The jb4 backend maps are free.
Download from N54tech to your phone...then flash using the Mhd "backend flash" option.

Any body run a stage 1 file from mhd on a stock x35 and then go dyno

That is a very good question. I would like to know that too.
I don't think anyone would risk it? Surely the stock CP will break under higher boost?

This comes down to ones own choice and risk they are willing to take
Some cars stock CP will Hold boost on the lower Maps but def will not hold under greater Boost requests - this is when you will need to replace a broken part (CP)

Some run a higher boost map with the mind set that you can run it till the CP pops and you have to replace to stronger aftermarket - or you replace upfront
Again as mentioned - it is choice

as far as tuner would say/recommend
replace to be safe

I would think you would need an upgraded intercooler too then as the stock one has plastic inlet and outlet.

When I get my car back I will do a before and after dyno with this MHD flash as I have a stainless steel charge pipe and an aftermarket intercooler with downpipes. would like to see the differences in power with this MHD map.

I'm running JB4 map5 on a stock N54 with stock CP. I'm thinking that the power gain/increased boost might be similar to the MHD stage 1 flash ?

If so, I have no issues so far( although not ideal, I know) with the stock CP.

I guess it depends on the current condition of your existing CP.

I know that Karsh also used the stock CP for while before upgrading with no issues.

As i said i would dyno the car and try gauge the power difference on an MHD Stage 1 file.

So got to loading the MHD app on my phone and played around on it

Initially i wanted to check for faults etc and maybe log the car.

How ever the temptation of loading a stage 1 file was to much.
So i went to my mate shop in Edenvale. Although i did base run at KAR i used Jerrys Dyno as we had time to mess around.
I had some spirited driving with a fellow member prior to the dyno.

We tied the car down and left the dyno fan on to cool the car down..
I loaded the stock file i initially backup on the mhd app and did a pull...

Mods list
DCi intake
PCV valve
lower thermo cooler
Charge pipe with HKS BOV
Bottle of black nf on 3 quater tank

Initial pull gave me 178 wkw and 426 nm..Although i was despondent the dyno is very stingy compared to KAR as i made around 9 percent less on this dyno with my 330d compared to KAr.

How ever i wanted to see the difference loading a stage 1 flash would make.

We left the fan on while i flashed the stage 1 file...Took 2 minutes to flash...
No other changes were made on the car on the next pulls.

Rob was there and can verify.

we made 3 pulls on the car ..

After 220wkw and 487 nm

For a simple generic flash and for the cost of the app etc i am more than happy..Graph looks nice and smoothe and the car seems to like the changes..
On the road the car feels way better more responsive...

Would reccomend the app to anybody with an N54 looking for a slight increase in power.

When i have fitted Bigger IC and done Dp i will try there stage 2 file..

In the long run i will probably get a custom file from a tuner but for now a very happy camper.

I will re dyno at KAR to verify results..

This is in no way a post to say a simple mhd app is better than any tuner etc but simply to illistrate what is out there and the results yielded.

The ability tp monitor your car or change things on the fly within reason is awesome. OR TO LOAD A STOCK FILE WHEN THE WIFE DRIVES THE CAR LOL.
Once you pay for the Stage 1 file you then have a few options you can change to suit yourself..

i like being ablility to change requested boost per gear so if im at a drag event and i have either to much wheelspin or want more i can adjust accordinly..

I have not messed on the exhaust burble as some research yielded cars running lean or not to try with cats in place.

As i play a bit more i was update my thread.

I am not sure what stage 1 files yield locally but for an investment of
R1250 app
R 550 cable
R 567 Stage 1 file not to bad

Awesome!
Thanks for sharing. Thats a very good bump in power. Well done. :clapper:

The only thing you could have done is to press the (logging) button then one could have seen how healthy the car is. The dyno just give you a power figure. Next time. Or try log on the road when its safe.

Thanks for the write up, I was wondering about this too. I want to also do this but need to do a carbon clean first and get a CP.
