Meguiar's Products - smaller quantities / samples courtesy of G Shift

Hi all,

Something I have been working on in the background (as part of bigger plans), is to offer some of my favourite products, in smaller quantities.  The reason for this is that some of these products may be more expensive than other products on the market, and for many consumers, price sensitivity is real.  This, coupled with "not knowing", means that often it is hard to justify spending more on a particular product, and after a couple of uses, you decide it's not for you.

What happens then is that your shelves / cupboards get full of half used, or barely used products, because you have moved on to something else.  Not ideal.  Experiences like this also set the precedent going forward, where you are perhaps now even more reluctant to try something else or something new.  It is almost considered a sunk cost, a waste of money.

So, I've been busy behind the scenes, putting together some of my favourite products in smaller quantities.  These are generally enough for a handful of uses.  The intention being:

  • Try it out, if you like it, then you can purchase the standard size products going forward
  • If you don't like it, you're not left with plenty of half-used products.
  • The cost of the smaller quantities is a lot less, so it makes it more palatable to try something new.
  • They can make great gifts (more on this coming soon).
For Meguiar's, there are a few products which I use on my regular basis, so I'm pleased to offer the following:

  • Gold Class Car Wash in 100ml:  I've tried a number of car wash products, across the spectrum, and this is still my favourite. It smells good too, so you will look all weird sniffing your car as you wash it, haha.
  • Endurance Tyre Gel in 100ml: Cheaper products tend to be more silicone-based, and offer a lot of shine.  They also tend to go brown quickly and your tyres look worse than before.  I've used this for years.  I actually only apply it once every 2 months or so, because it lasts, and I haven't experienced discolouration. If you apply and leave it to try, you get a deep glossy shine, or apply, and then wipe off excess with a cloth, it will leave a clean, matt finish.
  • Gold Class Trim Detailer in 100ml: I also find this nice for plastics and rubber trim, as it cleans and leaves a good finish, without being oily or gunky.
  • Gold Class Carnauba Premium Liquid Wax in 100ml: I love the finish this gives the paint. It's also very easy to apply and remove, no endless rubbing and expending copious amounts of elbow grease.  This also smells good, like custard actually, so if you thought you got your fix with the Gold Class Car Wash, wait until you try this.
  • Quik Detailer in 100ml: Great for removing that fine layer of dust, in preparation for car shows and so on. I also use this when using a clay bar to clean the paint prior to polishing and waxing.
  • Quik Detailer Interior:  I steer clear of most interior products, as they are silicone-based and leave too much shine on the dash, which then reflects into the windscreen and makes it a pain to see out the car.  This is great. It cleans and leaves a matt finish.
I'll probably be adding more products as we go along, so stay tuned for further updates.

All products are now live and available in the online store, so check it out: www.gshift.co.za

Bump.

New stock of most (if not all) advertised Meguiar's products is now in South Africa.

I'm expecting to be able to get products again from the end of this week, so if there is anything you are looking for, drop me a PM, or place your order on the online store.

Thanks
