Manifold back pipe

Hi can someone tell me what the pipe at the back of the manifold is called and what it does. I noticed today that mine is broken. Near to the oil dipstick. On 1995 E36 316i. I've attached a pic.

That looks like it goes to your master brake cylinder, does your car have any braking problems? This is most likely the cause :hammerhead:

That's exactly right. My brakes is very bad. And here I was going to replace my master brake cylinder.
